أخميم
عاصمة الإقليم التاسع من أقاليم مصر العليا، ومقر عبادة الإله “مين”، وهو إله الخصوبة والنماء. أطلق عليها اسم “خنت مين”، واشتق منه اسمها الحالي “أخميم”. أقام بها الملك رمسيس الثاني معبدًا ضخمًا كرس لعبادة الإله مين، واعتبر المعبد الرئيسي للمدينة، وما زالت بقاياه موجودة تحت المدينة الحالية، كما توجد به شواهد أثرية ترجع لعصر الأسرة الثامنة عشرة، وقد عثر بالمعبد على تماثيل ضخمة للملك رمسيس الثاني، بالإضافة إلى تمثال ضخم لابنته “مريت آمون” يعد من أروع ما أنتجت يد الفنان المصري القديم من تماثيل نسائية.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell
and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She
placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit
crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go
